Drivers & assignment
Run your own delivery fleet: drivers work from the partner app in driver mode, your staff assign orders from the order card, and customers see live delivery progress. This page covers getting drivers approved and organized, what the driver’s day looks like in the app, and how orders reach them.
Adding and approving drivers
Section titled “Adding and approving drivers”New drivers don’t take orders the moment they sign up — they go through an approval step first:
- The driver registers through the partner app.
- Their application appears in Dashboard → Settings → Approval → Driver Approval (
/configuration/approval/driver-approval/list). - Your team reviews the details and approves (or rejects) the account.
- Once approved, the driver can go online and receive orders.
This keeps control in your hands: nobody delivers under your brand without sign-off.
Organizing your fleet
Section titled “Organizing your fleet”Two tools in the dashboard help keep a growing fleet manageable:
- Driver groups — Dashboard → Settings → Manage User → Driver Group (
/configuration/manage-user/driver-group/list). Group drivers however suits your operation: by shift, by area, by vehicle type. - Driver custom fields — Dashboard → Settings → Manage User → Driver Custom Fields (
/configuration/manage-user/driver-custom-fields/list). Define the extra information you want on every driver profile — licence number, vehicle registration, whatever your operation or local rules require.
Outlet-level drivers
Section titled “Outlet-level drivers”As a premium option, drivers can be attached to a specific outlet rather than the shared fleet — useful when one location runs its own delivery crew. Outlet staff then assign orders to their own drivers directly.
The driver’s day in the partner app
Section titled “The driver’s day in the partner app”Drivers use the partner app in driver mode. The essentials:
- Going on shift — the driver taps Go Online to start receiving orders and Go Offline when done. Only online drivers are considered for assignment.
- The order list — assigned work is organized into two accordions: ASSIGNED (orders given to the driver, not yet picked up) and LIVE (deliveries in progress).
- Navigation — each order has map buttons to navigate to the outlet for pickup and then to the customer for drop-off, opening the device’s maps app with the destination set.
- Calling — call buttons reach the outlet or the customer directly from the order, for gate codes, parking, or “I’m outside”.
- Progress updates — the driver marks each step through pickup and delivery. Every update flows to your dashboard and to the customer’s live order tracking.
Earnings and settlement
Section titled “Earnings and settlement”Drivers see their own numbers in the app: earnings report screens showing what they’ve made, and settlement report screens showing balances to be settled — including cash collected on cash-on-delivery orders. Drivers who can check their own totals generate far fewer payday disputes.
Assigning orders
Section titled “Assigning orders”When a delivery order is ready for a driver, your staff assign it from the order card:
- Assign Driver — pick a driver for the order. They’re notified in the partner app and the order appears in their ASSIGNED list.
- Reassign Driver — hand the order to a different driver if the first can’t take it (vehicle trouble, already overloaded, not responding). The customer’s tracking continues seamlessly.
For a live-map view of all drivers and active deliveries, open Dashboard → Dispatcher (/dispatcher-panel) — every driver’s position and every order in progress on one screen, with the same assign and reassign tools.
What the customer sees
Section titled “What the customer sees”Once a driver is assigned and marks progress, the customer’s order tracking shows the delivery leg live — out for delivery, then delivered. Accurate driver updates are what make your tracking trustworthy, so make “mark every step” part of driver training.
Driver onboarding checklist
Section titled “Driver onboarding checklist”- Application approved in Driver Approval
- Any required custom fields filled in (licence, vehicle details)
- Added to the right driver group
- Signed in to the partner app, location permission granted, Go Online tested
- One supervised delivery completed, marking every step — pickup through delivered
- Driver shown their own earnings and settlement screens
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Symptom | Try this |
|---|---|
| Driver doesn’t appear when assigning | Check they’re approved and have tapped Go Online in the partner app |
| New driver can’t sign in | Their application may still be pending in Driver Approval |
| Driver position not updating on the map | The driver’s device needs location permission granted and the app running |
| Order stuck with an unresponsive driver | Use Reassign Driver on the order card — don’t wait |
